What is The Mumbler?

The Mumbler is an independent media publishing website and personal blog for me: Sam Reynolds.

I started The Mumbler in July of 2025 to have a centralized space to host my creative endeavors. I have been in and out of many different spaces since the early 2000’s from Piczo and Myspace (see short story Does a Myspace Page Play Music When There’s No One There To Hear It?) to my YouTube Channel and multiple Instagram pages.

I have played in bands, painted, sculpted, designed and built furniture and I am currently writing my first novel. Needless to say I have a sporadic attention span and often feel that my creative focus is widely spread thin. The Mumbler is my attempt to create an anchor point, the center of the web, a way of threading everything together into a cohesive creative existence.

I started writing when I was very young, but apart from a few essays and papers for school and a handful of songs that made it into the strings of my guitar, I have never shared much of my writing. Honestly, for a long time, I used writing to process my struggles and to reflect and problem solve and for that reason I was afraid to share my writing and open up that path to vulnerability. For the most part I was too afraid to even admit that I was writing, it was so private.

I have since been on a journey of self discovery and though I do still keep much of my writing private, I have learned to see the value that writing has brought to me and the growth and peace I have found in sharing it has become a guiding light for me to move forwards into a new chapter of life.

This blog is meant to explore ideas around self-discovery and personal growth, it is a platform for me to share stories both fictional and true, a place to reflect on my creative endeavors and where I will document and share parts of my life.

The Mumbler is my way of connecting to the world and I hope you find value and community here, and if you do feel free to sign up for email updates.

Welcome friend.
